I have created a Pinterest account so that our audience can easily access all the things were up to whilst shooting for our music video. Our audience can view the pins online or through any portable deceives such as mobile phones, as this app can be installed on Google play. My Pinterest account provides images with captions so that everyone knows whats happening in each shot.

This is a photo collage I have created with picture of day one shoot. I have added stickers to the background and use pink as the background to keep it in style with our key highlighted features and genre of music.

             

Day 1 of shooting!

On the first day of shooting we were at Southbank in the middle of London. We shot the dancing scene in the skate park. during shooting, as it was a public place, there was a lot of people coming to watch us film. This may have made us a bit more cautious while filming as they were watching us intently. We took many pictures while filming, not only for the blog but also for our digipaks.

Extra Blog: Lanters


Finally the lanterns have come f or our music video. These are for the scene at the end of the video where we watch the lanterns float up into the sky. The lanterns are all different colours including Blue, Red, Pink, White, and Yellow ,which are our theme colours. However, we may need adult supervision to light the lanterns as they can be quite dangerous.

Extra Blog- Candles!


Today I went Tescos to buy 2 red candles for our music video. As red is one of our themed colour, we wanted a candle to suit this. Although we bought other candles with different colours, this is the main one as red is the connotation of love which our artist Ana will be singing about. The candles are very large as they need to fit the camera well. This prop is hugely significant for our music video as we are using this to represent the love our artist has for our audience.

These small candles are for decoration in case we want to put it on the ground to show that this 'love' is extremely powerful and that the use of candles is her only way to convey this to our core audience. I chose a pink candle as it is one of our theme colours, for example pink is shown throughout our digi pack as the text is always pink. The colour pink stands out and represents femininity.

Extra Blog- I've downloaded Blogger!


I have now downloaded Blogger on my iPhone so that I can blog about what is happening with our music video outside my home. This is a good idea as I can prepare my blogger ideas and start writing about them. I can use it when I am on public transport to keep our audience updated with everything in case there is something to mention.

I look forward to using Blogger on my phone!

Watching MNEK Live acoustic performance at Spotify headquarters

Today, October 27th 2014 at 1pm I went to Spotify headquarters to see a live acoustic performance by 'Mnek'.  MNEK, is a Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter and record producer of Nigerian descent, signed to Virgin EMI Records.

I had the opportunity to bring three people as this was part of a competition and I was selected. I thought this opportunity was great as were making our music video with songs produced by British artist's and Jess Glynne and Clean Bandit which are the artist's we are using for our music video have also done some collaborations with Mnek.

Dance rehearsal for dance choreograph in music video - Ana

Rehearsal one
I decided to spend time with the dancers to learn a short choreography for our music video. The dance choreography will be shown in the chorus as the music becomes fast and upbeat to create a lively and happy atmosphere. In our next rehearsal we will wear the costumes which will be shown in the music video. This is important as we need to feel comfortable in what were wearing and be able to move freely without injuries.

These are the pictures for my magazine and album cover. I chose the same font for both (not the font from the logo cause I couldn't find it but I will have it for the real one). The covers also include the candle, the iconic hair and the dress that will be in the music video, this creates synergy between the three components.

For this Digipak I really wanted to be creative an unique . I started of by taking photographs at home in one of the costumes , which I will be wearing in our music video. I have also shown the key highlighted features throughout each product such as the theme colours ( pink, blue red and yellow) . the red lipstick , red nails and curly hair. This creates a brand image and the audience recognize the artist through out those features.
The text is pink and simple , which I believe is the best way to stand out and catches the audience attention. The font of the text is also the same , this way the audience can immediately recognize where the text is coming from. In all of items I have put on the logo which I have created , this indicates that she is owned by a well known record label and the audience become familiar with the logo and who it belongs to.

On the front cover of the album I added elements of the logo on to the background . I used the same technique that I used to create the logo , which was using different colour spray paints. I also added a yellow tint to the image so that it could stand out and also goes with our theme.

The bar code and itunes download was important to add onto the album cover to show the audience that it is an official product. Finally, I used the candle as one of the posters as the candle in our music video symbolises warmth , love and companionship. By making this a public advertisement the audience can relate to the message we bring out to our music video and makes them more interested in our the visuals in the music video will be.

Pitch Photographs of the artist - Ana

I have taken these photographs at home as I will be the artist in our music video. In these photographs I have used and shown the key highlighted features which will be shown in our music video. For example, the silver diamond dress, big curly hair, red nails , red lips and candle all are brand images which represents the artist.
I have added tints such a yellow , red and green  in some of the photographs as those are theme colours which will be show in our video.


Experimenting with pink plastic
I found a pink a4 plastic paper and decided to take photographs to see if it could create a pink filter effect, as one of the theme colours is pink. However, the plastic was not clear enough when taking distant pictures such as mid shots of my face the image would blur , even though the camera was focused. Although, I really liked this idea I stuck to taking photographs in front of a white wall then editing the pictures by adjusting the colour (color temperature ,tint and saturation).

As a group we went out to Angel and held interviews with young females and a male asking question such as:
  • What would you expect to see in a pop music video?
  • What is your favourite genre ?
  • Who is your favourite pop artist ?
  • If you made a pop music video what would be your expectation ?
  • Do music videos influence your everyday life and the way society behaves ?
  • What colours would you expect to see in a music video ?
This interview was held by Ana as she wanted to know more of what the audience thoughts were in pop music videos and the ways we could interpret our own creative music video, in a way that the audience would enjoy it .
Ana asked  four teenagers ages 17-20 as this is will roughly be our target audience for our music video.

This is a video includes interviews with a young female audience and screen shots from twitter of Jess Glynne's fans tweeting about different events and songs.

Overall, we had different responses from our audience some believed that music videos and the lyrics used give out  a negative message  to their audience such as drugs, objection of women and money. Whereas, there were people against this saying that music is part of their lives and it's a way of enjoying themselves.
80% of our audience agreed that music videos have bright colours , dance choreography , graphic and flashing images. We were surprised with our male interview as he had similar ideas to what our music video would include "culture , music , diversity an young atmosphere". In this interview Ana could relate to this audience member as she will be the artist in our music video and she took his comments on board , so that  she performs the best she can , to please her audience.

Pitch (8) costume/ props



There will be three costume changes in this music video. The costumes will change according to the structure of the song introduction/ verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bride/chorus. In the introduction the artist will be shown wearing a long sparkly dress as it represents her beauty , elegance and showing how she is dressed to impress because she in love. The costumes will then switch in the chorus to something more casual and colourful to show that she's original , youth and free.This is when the dance choreography is shown. Finally, when she interacts with different people from different communities (age, gender and race) she will also wear casual clothing to show that she's equal to everyone else.

We will be using a sky lantern with the candle inside, at the end of our music video, where we will release it at Alexandra Palace to show the she's share the with the world.
The candle and light symbolises love , warmth and companionship which links to the lyrics in the song.

Pitch (19) Social Media

INSTAGRAM:






 I have created an Instagram account as to do well in our music video I have to promote my artist in any way possible. Social media helps you sell the single well as all the fan basis support the artist together and also share the latest news on their social media about them. As we tried to include different aspects to reach our core audience, we thought we were ready to create this Instagram account  to spread the word about it enough. Social media are vital sources as they can make a massive impact on the amount of people buying the single or downloading it, and once I want to make the song very known and successful, making this instagram account was therefore necessary. 

In the bio I wanted my audience to understand what this instagram account was directly about so if they are interested, they can follow and be updated with the upcoming music video at any time. Of course we want to spread the word so the hashtags are there to attract different people from different places around the world, maybe our core audience.

More pictures are going to be up soon about our upcoming music video, we shall try use this instagram account to our full advantage and post regularly to keep our fans notified at all times.
