50 second video planning

Delilah- Never be another

Planning
Locations :
  • park
  • angel canal
  • window in the canteen looking out
This is a rough sketch of a story board we created for each shot .
In shot one there be a long shot of the singer walking down the canal with a few media shots to show that she is lip synching. The next location will be at a local park were close ups of her face will be shown as she begins to sing to show that is center of attention and she is promoting herself.
We have decided as a group to different shots such as use close ups of her eyes ,lips and face to make the 50 second video visually interesting. We have also thought of some ideas by listening to the song several times and ways we could present our music video through different editing skills. For example in shot two we thought of adding jump cuts .This adds to the artist/characters feeling as there will be different cuts of her expressing her anger and confusion , which relates to the meaning and lyrics of the song .

Props
The props we may use are a rose which connect a possible relationship she's in and maybe a mobile phone to show how most youth  relationships being through social network.

Camera Shots
  • Pan
  • Close up shot
  • Mid shot
  • Longshot
  • High angle shot

We learnt that a music video is a way to promote an artists songs and change the way that the audience  . They are mostly found on the internet on websites such as vimeo and youtube, as well as on TV channels such as MTV.
We also looked at the 'first' music video Buggles - Video killed the Radio Star. We can compare this to other music to see how music videos have progressed.

Reflecting back on the AS year

Before we broke up we were given an introduction into the music industry and we learnt the different functions of a music video and what they consists of. Such as editing , camera work , sound and mise –en scene. I learnt that a music video is a videotaped performance which is a recorded song that is shown on platforms such as T.V and the Internet. In addition they help promote the artist  while adding meaning to the lyrics,  and help the target audience remember the song.

The first music video ever made was said to be the 'Buggles' video killed the radio which aired in 1979 on MTV which costed £50,000 to make and was shot in a day.
